Sometimes a newsletter is not devoted to a single topic, but rather a brief discussion of several. That is the case today: we are publishing brief information about an interesting podcast, two upcoming conferences, and a competition that everyone is probably familiar with, but which is about to undergo significant changes. Welcome 😊

On Wednesday, October 18, 2024, at Apple Podcasts i Spotify a podcast episode has been released Frankly Speaking, in which I had the pleasure of answering Richard Howitt's questions about company-specific disclosures and whether companies in Poland will be able to cope with reporting in accordance with ESRS standards. Richard is one of the fathers of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive and has been actively promoting the idea of integrated reporting for many years. For the past two years, he has been hosting what I consider to be the best podcast on responsible business and ESG reporting. If you haven't listened to it yet, I highly recommend it – new episodes are released every two weeks.

Tomorrow, October 22, 2024, I will be speaking at CFO Congress organized by the Polish Association of Listed Companies, on the two main challenges facing companies preparing for reporting. With Marek Drobek and Marek Marzec from Consolia ESG we will consider how to equip the company with a good system that not only supports ESG data monitoring and consolidation, but also assists in the process of writing the report and, above all, tagging it with XBRL tags. Meanwhile, with Paweł Zaczyński, partner at Grant Thornton We will discuss all possible aspects of sustainability reporting certification. The congress is organized by SEG, but the topics covered are relevant not only to issuers, but to virtually any company that wants to grow steadily.

Next week, on October 29 and 30, Poznań will host GREENPACT – European ESG Summit. This year, the winners will be announced during the gala on Tuesday, October 29. Sustainability Report Competition organized by the Responsible Business Forum. I also invite you to two panel discussions, during which we will discuss the impact of the CSRD directive on business and the economy (October 29 at 4:25 p.m.) and the future of ESG in the context of the climate crisis (October 30 at 9:50 a.m.).

The competition itself will be decided for the last time in its current format. From next year, the evaluation criteria will change significantly. After all, we are entering the era of ESRSs. Over the past few months, the FOB Program Council has been working on a new format for the competition and new criteria. These will be announced during a webinar on November 6, 2024. I cordially invite you to register at this address.
