First, a few words about an event that has already taken place: on March 7, 2025, I participated in a panel discussion organized by ESG Academy. The conversation was led by Przemysław Chimczak-Bratkowski, and there were four of us talking: Anna Ławniczak (UHY ECA), Daniel Kiewra (FOB) and Mateusz Zreda (Destrier) and me. A recording of the discussion can be viewed at this address.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., Natcap Research, a company providing solutions for measuring the impact of businesses on the creation (or destruction) of natural capital, will host a webinar. Together with Vittorio Allegri (FTI Consulting) and Juliette Perche (Natcap) we will consider whether and how possible changes to the CSRD directive will affect how we disclose our companies' dependence on natural resources, and how we can identify risks and opportunities related to biodiversity and ecosystems. You can register for the webinar at this address.
The next day, i.e. Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Association of Stock Exchange Issuers is organizing a webinar devoted partly to Omnibus and partly to solving current challenges related to sustainability reporting. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Among those discussing and answering questions will be Mirosław Kachniewski (CEO of SEG), Małgorzata Szewc and Magdalena Raczek-Kołodyńska (vice presidents of SEG) and representatives of SEG ESG Partners. Registration for the event is at this address, but it should be noted that it is available to SEG member companies and those that have purchased the appropriate subscription from SEG.
On Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., together with Robert Adamczyk (EBRD, FOB) and Magdalena Andrejczuk (mBank) we will discuss the impact of the Omnibus and what companies should do during a period of regulatory uncertainty. The discussion will take place within the ESG reporting working group and participation is open to FOB partners.
I have the impression that the dust is gradually settling after the announcement of the Omnibus. We already know the scenarios for possible regulatory changes, and everyone can consider which of them are more or less likely. Of course, there is still a lot of uncertainty, chaos, and sudden twists and turns ahead in the legislative process; well, politicians have treated us to this roller coaster ride in the name of supposed competitiveness, so we have to get used to it. Meanwhile, we are experiencing the hottest first decade of March in human history, growing risks related to human rights, and uncertainty in supply chains. So, on a daily basis, we need to focus on sustainability, i.e., work on the resilience and stability of companies and their environment 😊.
