Sustainability pathfinders
About us
MATERIALITY is an independent Polish consultancy specializing in sustainable development issues. We work for large and medium-sized Polish and international companies. For 10 years, we have been supporting companies in their transformation, implementing sustainable business models, advising, identifying development opportunities, and improving the skills of our clients' teams through training and coaching.
Our mission
Transitioning to a sustainable future
Our mission is to support our clients in effectively transforming their businesses so that they operate and grow within limits that are safe for people and ecosystems of our planet.
Our team
Sustainability pathfinders
The transition to a sustainable future is a path that no one has yet fully traveled. Our role is to identify future threats and opportunities, finding new paths for our clients to follow. We look to the future and translate our discoveries into concrete action here and now.
We cooperate with institutions and organizations that set the direction for sustainable transformation:

We have been a member of the UN Global Compact Network Poland since 2025.

Piotr Biernacki, Partner at MATERIALITY, is a member of EFRAG Sustainability Reporting TEG, co-creating ESRS standards since 2020.

Piotr Biernacki, Partner at MATERIALITY, is a member of the Sustainability Standing Committee Consultative Working Group at ESMA, the European Securities and Markets Authority.

Since 2024, we have been a Knowledge Partner of the Responsible Business Forum.

We have been a partner of the Polish Association of Listed Companies since the program's inception in 2017.

Justyna Biernacka, Partner at MATERIALITY, and Artur Gazda, Due Diligence Manager, are members of the Working Group on the Application of the EU Taxonomy at the Ministry of Development and Technology.
We're forging new paths
Our proprietary methodologies prove themselves in dozens of projects every year. Where necessary, we create customized, pioneering solutions.
Thanks to this, our clients have repeatedly been the first in Poland or worldwide to achieve their goals:
- World's first disclosure on compliance with the EU Taxonomy for environmentally sustainable activities
- The world's first report compliant with ESRS standards
- First disclosure of full material flows in a company in Poland
- The first study in Poland on the impact of companies on space
- World's first disclosure of the Glass Ceiling Ratio
What sets us apart?
We advise pragmatically
We ensure that sustainable development supports the company's business. We openly present what is necessary, what may be useful, and what actions are not worth pursuing.
We know regulations
We actively participate in the creation of EU and Polish regulations on sustainability through our work at the European Commission, EFRAG, and ESMA. This allows us to ensure that our clients operate in accordance with current and upcoming regulations.
We openly share our knowledge
We work together in such a way that our client's team becomes increasingly independent in sustainability management and reporting.
We put human intelligence at the center
We use modern digital tools in our work, but it is people we put in the center. It is through conversations with customers and stakeholders that the best solutions to the challenges facing businesses are developed.
We apply systems thinking
Sustainability is a network of interconnected issues, activities, dependencies, influences, risks, and opportunities. We delve into each of these elements, but we also cover entire groups of them, helping our clients find the right path. The right path means one that is safe, beneficial, and supportive of development.
