About the EU Taxonomy of Sustainable Buildings at ZODIAK

On May 31, 2022, a meeting on the implementation of the EU Taxonomy in the construction industry was held at ZODIAK, Warsaw Architecture Pavilion. MATERIALITY experts explained how to apply the Taxonomy in the construction industry and took part in a discussion with invited experts: Katarzyna Unold, Managing Director at Acciona Nieruchomości, Ewa Kowalska-Ocneanu, Chief Sustainability WSP in Poland, and Agnieszka Kalinowska-Soltys, Partner at APA Wojciechowski Sp. z o.o.. The meeting was moderated by Anna Zawadzka-Sobieraj, who represents MATERIALITY as Built Environment Manager, and also works under the Mech.build brand and in the Sustainable Architecture Circle of OW SARP.

Among the topics covered were such issues as:

  • New requirements of investors and financial institutions for buildings;
  • Will knowledge of current environmental certifications be sufficient;
  • At what stage of the project should the EU Taxonomy criteria be implemented.

The meeting was held as part of the Architecture of Climate Crisis series.
