What is the RES Family Facts Academy contest all about?
As part of the fourth edition of the program Play Green® with us launched Family Academy of Renewable Energy Facts - A competition aimed at participating schools, their students and their parents and guardians. Participants prepare artwork or short film forms in three age categories, focusing on facts about wind farms and photovoltaic installations.
The most committed school can win a voucher worth PLN 20,000 to equip a biology, chemistry or physics lab. The contest combines education, creativity and intergenerational cooperation, while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and local energy transition efforts.
What is clean energy and why is it worth talking about?
Clean energy is energy derived from sources that do not emit (or emit minimal amounts of) greenhouse gases during generation - such as wind and solar. It is one of the pillars of the energy transition and a key part of the response to climate, environmental and economic challenges.
At the same time, renewable energy sources still stir emotions and are fraught with many myths. That's why fact-based education is so important to understand both the benefits and the real challenges of renewable energy development.
Why does debunking myths about RES matter?
Many myths have grown up around sustainability and RES - from beliefs about the instability of wind and solar power, to allegedly unusually high costs, to concerns about the environmental impact of installations. As the analysis and data cited in the article „5 myths about sustainable RES development”, many of these claims are not supported by facts today, and their replication is slowing down the green transition.
The Family Academy of Renewable Energy Facts encourages young people and adults to ask questions, verify information and learn by doing. It is this approach that builds long-term understanding and public acceptance of energy changes.

Cooperation with content partners ensures that the educational content of the competition is based on up-to-date knowledge, data and sound analysis, and not on simplistic slogans or circulated opinions.
Thanks to the combination of experience Polenergia, expert background and the educational perspective of MATERIALITY and the Ogarnij Inżynierię Foundation, the „Play Green® with Us” competition is becoming not only an educational initiative, but also a real contribution to building an informed, responsible conversation about the future of energy in Poland.
