MATERIALITY in the field with the Forest Forever Foundation

02 Apr 2026
At MATERIALITY, we believe that real change starts with action - the kind that feels underfoot, under the hand holding the spade, and in the smiles of the people standing next to you. That's why we spent the last Friday in March once again in the field, planting trees that in time can grow into a biodiverse forest ?

Forest Forever Foundation for years has been reclaiming forest areas after logging to bring them back to life. At one such site, this time in the village of Nowe Chlebiotki in Podlaskie Voivodeship, we have joined in planting native species of trees and shrubs - including birches, hornbeams, oaks, lindens, maples, wild roses, jackrabbits and boxwoods. It is this kind of diversity that gives a natural forest a chance to emerge, which in the future will itself form a stable ecosystem more resistant to the effects of climate change.

Our planting is not a „ruler” job. Each hole must find its way between the carpels of felled trees, in a place where a young seedling will have the best conditions for growth. It's attentiveness, cooperation and movement, a pleasant contrast to the hours spent at screens.

After hours of physical labor, we came back tired, happy and full of spring energy - with the feeling that we are leaving behind something that has a chance to grow for many, many years. Each sapling planted is a small step towards making Polish forests more diverse, fuller of life and more resilient.

This has become our corporate tradition, and is an important part of how we understand responsibility - as an action, not a declaration. Thank you to the entire MATERIALITY team and the Forest Forever Foundation for working together to create a place where nature can come alive. See you at the next planting! 🌳💚
